Touring on a Savage is easier on the engine than stop & go riding around town!!! I tour on mine. Ususally trips from home in central GA up to the mountains (like the Honda Hoot). To tour with a Savage, get the Ventura luggage system. It works great but buy two packs. This way you can face one towards the front & use it as a back rest. It seems to take two packs to work around the passenger back rest. I plan my trips to avoid expressway & cruise at 65-70 MPH. The only problem I have is the limited fuel range & keeping up with my buddies who have bigger bike & get carried away with how fast they can go.
